![]() It seems that the pictures which show a clean apartment to me were being interpreted in a different way in order to charge me for the cleaning. This means the manager can automatically decide after checking the apartment three days after I have moved out that it has not been thoroughly cleaned. I was not given specific move out cleaning instructions other than what I mentioned was in the lease. The pictures show the apartment was thoroughly cleaned. The wording in the lease of "thoroughly cleaned" is ambiguous and up for interpretation by them and and is not proper in this case. The burden is not on the former tenant to subsidize the cleaning of the apartment if there is not substantial filth that is in the apartment. The manager was out of the office until three days after I moved out so I was not able to discuss how particular items needed to be cleaned and by the photos I have sent one can clearly see the apartment was left in great condition. Also, an area like the oven was noted as being dirty, however, the oven has a self clean mechanism which can be used after I washed it myself by hand. The pictures they took were at a later date and show an item such as a stainless steel sink to have water stains which is interesting since it is stainless steel, but in my pictures this is not so. Based on the pictures I have sent it does not show substantial lack of cleanliness. Also, the pictures do show the inside of the shower and sinks. I will upload a screenshot from the manager where she explains two areas that they claimed needed to be cleaned. For starters, the claim that there were many items that were listed to need cleaning is false. I do not accept this response from the business. (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Additional refunds will not be honored due to valid cleaning charges. We are not seeking any electric charges from this resident.Īll charges stand. Electric services are managed between the resident and the 3rd party. ![]() Resident was issued a refund for the remainder of his deposit, less cleaning charges.Ĭlaims of the utilities noted in the complaint are unfounded as our company has not charged the resident for electric, nor have we engaged with the utility company. Pictures of the cleaning items were sent to the resident as back up of the cleaning fees. Charges included cleaning for multiple basins, appliances, one commode, and tub/shower area. Resident requested a walk through while still residing in the apartment, which is not our standard process. Resident was charged $125 for professional cleaning of his unit upon move-out. ![]() I have attached pictures of the unit below. I have tried to resolve the issue with the manager of the complex and the regional manager from corporate, but have been unsuccessful and get the same story. Both of my complaints are unfair business practices and the Duke energy complaint is fraud on their part. As for the Duke energy situation I would like to know what your office thinks I should do. I am seeking monetary damages all I am asking for the full security deposit back. Also, the complex was trying to charge me for the electricity a week after I moved out and they told Duke energy to keep the power in my name after I called Duke to tell them to shut it off on the day I moved out which was June 20. This was even after I sent them pictures of the sinks showing they were clean. ![]() When I reached out to the manager of the complex Kory, and also the regional manager they told me the sinks were not cleaned so I had to pay the full bill. In the lease it states clean before you move out which I did. ![]() I should not have to subsidize cleaning for the next tenant when I cleaned and the lease does not specify that I do. I attempted twice to do a walk through twice when I was there and I was told I was not able to do it. Also they finally did the walk through two days after I moved out when I was not able to be in person. They claimed the apartment was not clean, yet I spent two days prior cleaning. I moved out on Jand was not given my security deposit back. ![]()
